Confession
Sep. 26th, 2003 07:00 pmVery occasionally, there's a commercial that stops me in my tracks and glues me to the TV. I have to stop everything I'm doing and watch it. Most often, I stop because I have to yell at the commercial and its demon creators (ie: that JC Penney's commercial where the dad sits next to his fitful child and says, "Where is your mother?" Don't get me started.).
But sometimes I stop because I'm positively drawn to the commercial. Usually, it's the music that pulls me in. Last year, it was the VW commercial with the J. Ralph song "A Million Miles Away", with the guy running late to what we think is his wedding, but then he bursts in and there's already a couple at the altar. (Yeah. I know.) When that commercial came on, I stopped and stared, while trying to lok nonchalant.
Well, the current Gap commercial with Squeeze's "Tempted" does the same thing. And here is my confession -- a major reason is that man. And that body. Good. Heavens. He's gorgeous. I love the way he rubs his face when he wakes up.
Thank you, Gap. I've never found any clothes that fit me there, but I thank you nonetheless.
