I've fallen in love with
nickelchief's description of Nova Scotia's beauty. I called to make the reservation but my flight voucher only covers continental U.S. My well-traveled LJ friends, do you know of anything in the Eastern/mid-U.S. area that has similar landscapes? I've not given up on New Orleans, but I could really dig some good solitary, melancholic landscapes.

Date: 2003-09-23 06:09 pm (UTC)I think the Hudson River valley is inspiring this time of year, I have plenty of ideas for that, but you're IN it already, it doesn't require air travel.
If you want to fly to Denver, I could set you up in a free, cozy cabin near Rocky Mountain National Park, in Estes Park, Colorado ... gentle hikes during the day and writing at night ... the amusing sound of elk rutting ... coffee and omelettes in town ... only two-something hours' flight from NYC.
