I'm really restless at work today. I can't find the drive to do anything. I want to be at home, under my comforter, watching the rain. I could use a mental health day. Or month. Or -- hell -- why not a year?

Restless Me = Half-empty posts. This is why I pulled out my knitting bag yesterday and resumed work on a long scarf with pockets for myself. If my hands can't use the phone, they can knit and they can type on LJ.

hey i feel the same way today. Not sure if it's the rainy Houston weather, the long weekend, or what.

Last night it also hit me that we will be getting up and going to work for a long time until we retire. you think i would've figured that out along time ago. work is good, but so is vacation.

I'm about to start a scarf myself--pockets! What a great idea!!

And they're so easy! You just fold the ends of the scarf up, stitch them together and voila! Pockets!

Oh, GREAT idea! I was imagining lots of little pockets facing this direction and that, which would be so cool!--but not too practical. :-)

The all-which-way pockets sound fun too, though they'd be far beyond my knitting skills. The scarf I'm knitting is easy; it's long and soft, and I imagine it to be perfect for strolling around on cool autumn days, hands stuffed deep into the pockets, head tilted up, contemplating the sky. Now let's see if I can't finish it before autumn is over!
