Is it possible to eat too many carrots? I just had, in the course of an hour, about 1 1/2 cups of baby carrots, and suddenly I don't feel so good. Maybe it was the interaction of the carrots and the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. This has never happened before. Perhaps my body is finally revolting against my tyrannical lunch regime. If so, we're all in trouble.

A friend of mine went on a carrot-heavy diet several years ago - and her skin starting turning orange. I read somewhere of a person who had gone a long time (months) eating nothing BUT carrots ... and he actually left orange footprints.

Maybe your body has WAY too much Vitamin A in it.

Yikes! Orange footprints would be kind of fun, but I think I'm okay without them. I'm going to have to be careful with my carrot intake from now on.

The vitamin A found in carrots does not cause adverse reactions in high quantities. Could be somethng else in the carrots, though.

And I've heard that if you're on a juice fast and want to hide the orange tint to your skin just get a tan. It hides it well.

Weird, eh?

Stomachache?

Too much fiber, I'll bet.

That could be it. The PB&J sandwich was a triple-decker on 100% whole wheat bread --or as CG calls it, "400% fortified wheat bread with elephant tusks". He's a white bread kind of guy.

Man those yellow bags are pretty much burned into my minds eye when i think of bread. It's all I can buy when I go to the Sto'.

I don't want to turn this into a whole bread discussion though. (I'm imagining 234 posts all about what kind of bread people like, and that would be kind of boring I think.)

Naw, dude, those aren't even the loaves I'm talking about. I went even further into the wheat bread territory. This stuff is Serious (and when I serious, I mean *Serus*).

Hmm, I didn't consider that one. Do carrots have a high sugar content? Shows you how much I know about nutrition matters...

They are high in sugar, but no as much as a typical candy. I'm sugar sensitive, but I can drink a pound of juiced carrots and be fine whereas I get a rush off a few bites of a candy bar.

Might be the fiber causing your discomfort.

That's interesting. I had no idea. I always thought of things like candy and fruits being high in sugar, not vegetables. Fascinating!

Carrots get to me too. Sometimes when I'm eating carrots as a snack, I have to stop and actually catch my breath! My hypothesis is that it's some wicked orange bad-ass heavy duty fiber all fighting to get broken down at once.

(Orange footprints!?!?!!)
