This makes my return to NYC much sunnier -- Fort Greene is finally getting a green market! In the park! Across the street from my apartment! Every Saturday, starting this Saturday! Yes! And only a month after I cancelled Urban Organics. I couldn't bear to see all those greens wilt and mold in my refrigerator every two weeks.

I love New York. I love my neighborhood.

Congrats! Glad to hear it's on a Saturday- some neighborhoods in Maryland have their markets on Tuesdays- what's up with that?? What was Urban Organics, just out of curiosity?

Urban Organic (http://www.urbanorganic.com) is a home delivery service for organic groceries. I think they're only in the NYC and Portland areas right now, but I'm sure they'll expand, as they're popular and good. I just couldn't eat all the food they sent me!

Neat! I feel your pain- the farm has produced mostly greens during the cool, wet early summer, and I'm having trouble facing up to another dinner of collards, kale, etc.

Exactly! I only know one way to fix collards/kale, and one way to fix chard, and I'm sure I don't have to tell you, buttered chard with parmesan only works for so long. It feels foolish to make such a healthy vegetable soooo buttery and bad for you.

I abandoned healthy a while back. I figured I'm doing well just to keep eating the stuff, even if I cook it up in pork fat of some sort. I may give the butter with parm treatment a try- can't be any worse than pork fat.

I just realized now that you were talking about using chard in butter and parm, not collards, but it still ought to work. We haven't gotten any chard from the farm so far this season.
