Still playing around with all the features of this journal. I just stumbled upon the "edit entries" option. That seems like cheating to me! Revisionism in your own journal. I guess it's only fair to be able to edit an inflammatory post you wrote while sloppy drunk, but on the whole, I think it's weird. You can't take back your words in real life; why should you be able to do it here?

Ahh, but is this real life?

The edit function might come in handy when you do any of the following

* post the same thing 2wice because you get impatient with the submit button
* realis ethat you've misspled something
* wonder if what you said was hip and alternative enough
* find out that oh shit, you are at work naked!
* need to insert more non-sequiters (sp?)

not that EYE have done any of those things.

You make good points my friend.

RE: not being alternative and hip enough -- Just to get a rough sense of the demographic of this LJ community, I ran a search for people whose interests include Backstreet Boys, and came up with about 30.

Lyle Lovett... 50 people.

Trembling Blue Stars... 150 people.

Ran a search for Soul Coughing... 780 people.

Sweet.

oh, yeah. welcome.

you'll also notice that cheese is a more popular interest than sex. oh, and "nsync" is listed 3300 times or so. i wouldn't get your hopes up just yet about the 'hipness' of this place.

this medium is insane, as far as information technology goes. it really shouldn't be successful, but i think somehow it adds up to more than a sum of its parts or something. i once saw someone link this page to a post and call for people to link it as well. friends posted it to friends who posted it to friends, etc. the page was linked over 800 times in 48 hours, shooting it into the top ten on that list.

i challenge any website short of theonion.com to generate hits like that. information structures rule.

howdy

Yeah, shortly after I posted the mini-statistics of this community's musical tastes, I realized that one possible reason for the small number of self-admitted BSB fans could be that most are too embarrassed to put it in their interests area.

P.S. Please don't tell me that you're at work naked.

ive made a post in a drunken state, but decided not to delete it, even though the post made little sense and tried to mock something someone said..i found it funnier when they responded and i came back to apoligize....
