sun_set_bravelyI love the way one person's Inspired work can, in turn, be the soundtrack for another person's Inspiration.
Erin McKeown was wonderful last night. Those of you who don't know her, should. She plays like she was born with a guitar in her hands, and her lyrics are effortless and touching. CG and I got to Joe's Pub early enough to get perfect seats -- on the plush couches, center, with a perfect view of the stage. Joe's Pub is a great, intimate space. I know that, one day, I'll be amazed and excited that I got to see her back when she was just starting to gain momentum. And she's my age (which is astonishing, and exciting, and challenging), so perhaps I can call her a contemporary. I'd love to put one of her songs into the screenplay.

I feel alive today. I came out of the subway with her new CD in my ears, and I was surprised to see the top half of the Empire State Building disappeared into the fog. I was sure it would be sunny outside, to match my vibrant feeling.
