Spring fever
Mar. 25th, 2003 10:27 amI did it. I got it cut off. And... I went for a new color, too.

Also, these pictures were taken with my new digital camera. I love it.
I have an acute case of spring fever. I love my new look, and I want to buy lots of new clothes.
Whoo-hoo!!

Date: 2003-03-25 12:07 pm (UTC)I bought a Sony DSC-U20 Cyber-shot Digital Camera. My roommate's had it for a while, and I really like how quickly it takes pictures. The quality is great, too! I bought mine at Circuit City for $270, and I'm very happy so far. It doesn't have a zoom, and it can only record video (not audio), but it works for quick and nice pictures.

Show us the front with your beautiful face!
Do you feel as if you should be walking up Fifth Avenue in slow motion, walking a few Afghan hounds and swinging your head from side to side?

Date: 2003-03-25 12:21 pm (UTC)Here's how the salon visit went down:
1) I show the stylist my picture of Louise Brooks (thanks,
2) He starts to cut my hair, and asks, "Do you want short bangs?"
I cringe and say, "Define short."
He laughs, and then I say, "You know what? Do what you think will look best."
He asks, "Are you an artist?"
I say, "I'm a writer." Pause. "Why do you ask?"
He says, "Artists are usually more likely to be more flexible with their hairstyle. More willing to try new things."
3) He finishes cutting my hair and says, "I think we'll go with a red for the highlights." My heart leaps and I say, "Really? Do you think that will work?" He says, "Sure!"
4) While the gloss is setting in my hair, he says, "We should lighten your eyebrows. You'll be happier with that." Hmmm...
5) An hour later, I have a head of flaming red highlights and a great gloss over it all. I was surprised at how vivid it turned out. I have no idea what color he used, or the details about it all. I am soooo pleased!
I might just find a couple of hounds to walk with on Fifth Avenue!

Date: 2003-03-25 07:46 pm (UTC)I'm desperate for a change, too. I've been thinking of straightening my hair, but I'm afraid that will only accentuate my roundish-squarish face. I want to find a style that will take little effort but that will make me look FABULOUS.

Date: 2003-03-26 05:01 am (UTC)I'm usually up for any change to my hair, but the one requirement I have is that the style must not take more than five minutes to fix in the morning. I'm very impatient with morning prep! This was the first time I've ever gone to a nice salon (not super-fancy, but nice) (okay, anything other than Supercuts) for a hairstyle, and I'm very pleased. Maybe you will find a stylist that can advise you on a new look. I say go for it! Change is fun!
