Yes, I walked through the center of that dense crowd of high school students on the sidewalk on purpose this morning. I wanted to feel their youth breaking around me like the ocean. I wanted to breathe in their beauty - sadness - hunger - possibility, and I wanted to imagine their dreams in my lungs.

I don't remember what made me think of myself as primarily a commenter. I know that if I'm honest with myself, I use LJ for more personal reflection than I realize.
