I adore the movie "Contact" with Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaghey. I will watch it any time it's on TV. This ranks up there as one of my favorite films, and is definitely one of my favorite strong female characters in film.

i love most of that movie....the technicalities and politics were great.
great performances all around also.

every time i see it i think i need to read some of carl sagan's work.....

I never have, but I would love to. This would be a good book to start with!
