In the middle of my day, I almost forgot that my boyfriend and I got up at 5 this morning to bundle myself out into the park and lay down in the middle to watch the sky. It was cloudy, and the park is better lit than I thought, but I saw at least a dozen meteors trail across the sky. Some of them even left dusty trails after their bright sparks. A man and a woman settled into the grass near us and every time a meteor fell, he pointed and she laughed like a child.

you saw a dozen more than i did then ... *sigh* ... there was a thick milky haze over the sky above the bronx. perhaps you had fairer weather in your southern climate.

congratulations for sticking it out despite the discouraging clouds, you got your just reward.

No fair! Only fifteen miles to the north and the clouds decided to hide you from the stars. I suspect that the scientists were exaggerating when they said this was the last big Leonid until 2098. They just said that to scare us into waking up early.
