The Novel Approaches

sun_set_bravelyIt's now October 30th, two days from when I will begin this Novel writing experiment. It's been funny to hear people's reactions to this experiment. I must be telling the story wrong, because most of my friends ask me, "So you win... what?" And I explain that I win the satisfaction of writing 50,000 words in a story-like fashion. "Oh. Okay." They don't think it's going to be as fun as I think it will be.
I've come up with a rough road map for myself. I realized yesterday that 50,000 words with no chapter breaks or character outlines or whatever would be tedious to write, so I'm formulating a way to give myself guidance along the way. I'm not ready to post it here yet, but hopefully as the month moves along it will coalesce and I'll share it with y'all.
