I think I might have to retitle my LJ "Product Reviews" if I keep posting things like this. It's not my fault that I have incredibly well-informed and savvy LJ friends!

To all of you LJ friends of the lipstick-wearing variety (male or female): speak to me of a good, affordable, kissable lipstick. Yes, it is for the wedding. I can't be leaving kiss marks all over my dear groom, or worrying about smearing.

What brands do you love? Where do you find them? Any favorite va-va-voom colors?

Your coloring is so different from mine that I wouldn't dare recommend a shade, but MAC Pro Longwear Lipcolour comes in gorgeous colors and really does stay on. Don't buy it online, though. Go look at it in person. The colors on the MAC website aren't what I'd call exact.

It comes in a double-ended wand; apply the color from one end and let it soak into your lips and set for a minute, then put on a coat of the gloss from the other end to seal it and keep your lips from drying out, and you're set for about 4 hours of kissing, eating, drinking, whatever. I love it.

Thanks for the tip! I love the fact that it doesn't dry your lips -- that's my major complaint with the other long lasting lipsticks I've tried. I will just have to head down to MAC when this heat wave passes and try on some lipstick!

i'll just post it here for everyone's viewing pleasure--- in case someone else wants the secret of color-stay-lip-goodness...courtesy of megan murphy.

"alright, dude, i'm not even joking. cover girl's outast lip-stuff is a
product i swear by. i'm almost positive that's what it's called - it's in a
longish blue tube that comes with a matching longish blue tube that puts the
glossy stuff on over the color. they have a million colors and some
different varieties (shimmery, matte, "fancy pearlescent", etc) and i love
ALL OF THEM. i recommend getting some cheapie lip-liner that you like
(outlining beforehand is muy importante since you don't want to get outside
the lines - this stuff really really sticks) and some of the outlast stuff
and you will be so set. it stays on forever, is easy to apply and is
usually priced right around $8. it has never ever failed me (it's the only
thing i use for shows now, when i make out with random people and/or can't
risk smudging nasty makeup on a costume). get you some of this
lip-awesomeness. and have a super-happy wedding!"

This is super-fantastic! You can't really get a more glowing review than that. And I'm glad to know that I can make out with random people at the wedding. You just never know when the occasion might arise. ;) No no, just kidding.

The groom won't mind!
