I love survey/quizzes like this. "Please, Ms. Computer, tell me where I should live!"
But this is just too weird. I'm not sure what I said that brought up so many damn cities in Arkansas:
Alexandria, Louisiana
Hot Springs-Hot Springs Village, Arkansas
Covington, Louisiana
Little Rock, Arkansas
Eugene, Oregon
Milwaukie, Oregon
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Shreveport-Bossier City, Louisiana
Eureka Springs, Arkansas
Heber Springs-Greers Ferry Lake, Arkansas
Corvallis, Oregon
Lincoln City, Oregon
Leesville, Louisiana
New Orleans, Louisiana
Holiday Island, Arkansas
Mountain Home/Bull Shoals, Arkansas
Newport, Oregon
Astoria, Oregon
Lafayette (Cajun Country), Louisiana
Monroe, Louisiana
Fayetteville, Arkansas
Cherokee Village, Arkansas
Nantucket, Massachusetts
Andover, Massachusetts
With some tweaking, Attempt #2 brought up these slightly more acceptable options:
Honolulu, Hawaii
Little Rock, Arkansas
Alexandria, Louisiana
New Orleans, Louisiana
Santa Cruz, California
Sacramento, California
Valencia, California
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Shreveport-Bossier City, Louisiana
Las Vegas, Nevada
El Cajon, California
Portland, Oregon
San Bernardino, California
Palo Alto, California
Hot Springs-Hot Springs Village, Arkansas
Baltimore, Maryland
Salisbury, Maryland
Lafayette (Cajun Country), Louisiana
Santa Barbara, California
Ventura, California
Eugene, Oregon
Providence, Rhode Island
Hartford, Connecticut
Corvallis, Oregon
and interestingly, the site says this about Las Vegas, Nevada:
"Ladies' Home Journal called this one of its Best Cities for Women, citing skyrocketing job growth and shriveling crime rates." ??? Maybe I don't know enough about Las Vegas, but does this sound odd?

Date: 2002-09-16 08:57 pm (UTC)"Shriveling crime rates" = prostitution is legal in Las Vegas.
I rest my case there.
Here's the weird thing: Little Rock was my number one suggestion, too! What is up with this city? Until I took this quiz, I thought the only distinctive thing about Arkansas was that they were 49th in the nation in prevention of rickets. (Leave you in the dust, Mississippi!) You know, I understand that Little Rock is known as "The Place Where America Comes Together." I don't know if Clinton has anything to do with that motto, but I'm sure not about to move there to find out.
And so what city has the most in common with Little Rock? Why, Honolulu, of course, my number two suggestion. Sure. Makes, uh, sense. The rest of the top six are:
3) Sacramento, California
4) Portland, Oregon (first city on the list with a bustling alterna-scene)
5) Las Vegas, Nevada (gag)
6) Washington, D.C.
Boston did make it to this list, but it was #17, behind New Haven, Connecticut at #16 and Providence, Rhode Island at #15 (heck, snoozy Hartford, CT fared better, at #9). And my anti-winter bias must have pushed sweet home Chicago off the list; a downright shame. Still, an interesting set of results. Good link.
