No, not like "custody battle over the dog" broken, but more like "our bodies are falling into disrepair and we can't stop them."

After a month of solid whirlwind activity, my body finally gave out after I got feedback on my script last week. On Wednesday, I got that suspicious nasal itch. On Thursday, I got the dizziness. And on Friday, I could no longer deny that I had a cold. I slept for most of the weekend. It's still kickin', though at least it hasn't settled in my chest and turned into an infection, like my colds used to love to do. I still feel like there's a ball of snot stuck in the middle of my head. I'm drinking Robitussin like it's going out of style. I might just start serving it to myself in a wine glass, for fun.

All weekend, [livejournal.com profile] freak1c complained of an ache in his neck and back. Then on Sunday night, the ache turned into acute muscle spasms painful enough to make him cry out. We took him to the doctor on Monday, and she diagnosed him with two big muscle spasms in his trapezius muscle (on his dominant left side, no less). So she prescribed him some powerful muscle relaxants and lots of rest. He stayed home Monday and Tuesday, and went (very slowly) into work today.

Also, our poor cable modem has been freaking out, therefore our VoIP phone line has been off and on, too. Can technology catch a cold?

I guess we're lucky that the dog and the bird aren't coming down with a cough or spasms, too. I laughed last night at the potential irony, for me to give my bird the Human Flu. Okay, it's not that funny, but hey, you get your yuks where you can.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to try to summon the energy to do some work.

Oh, I hate it when the cold or 'flu goes traveling in the home. But I hope you feel a little rejuvenated by a weekend, at least. Tell Chris I said hi?

Technology may not catch a cold, but I think it goes out and drinks too much from time to time.

Be well.

Oh man, I hope you guys feel better soon. You could both go to the steam room at your gym, fill it with bacteria, and then LEAVE, all relaxed and ready to go! HA HA HA!

That is, if you could move.

Regarding the technology: Mercury retrograde until the 25th. Which also affects Mercury-ruled Virgos pretty intensely, by the way. Kick back and give it a few days if you can.

Oh crap! I just sent out my script to a casting agent for consideration for her reading series. I hope that one communication can just slip through the Retrograde cracks. Zoinks!

All other script-related communications will wait until the 26th. Thanks for the heads up!

Our gym is so annoying. They're really specific about the whole "no people with nasty head colds in the steam room" thing. Where is their sense of adventure?

Urf! (Fun activity: count up and document all the different interjections people use to start off their comments when you're sick, and then see if it corresponds each time to a specific disease, or specific commentator.) That cold sounds debilitating. Good thing you've got a little work in the pipeline and can afford to take it easy for a little bit. Rest rest rest!

Sounds like homie's in a bad spot, too. If he runs into my boss at the doctor's, tell him to whack her one; she spends all of her afternoons there now (mmm-hmm) with "muscle trauma". More like "work trauma", but anyway.

I am, however, pretty amused at the idea of him going "(very slowly) into work". I just picture him wading through the air one limb at a time, voice pitch-shifted down three octaves: "Morrrrniiiinnngg, evvvvrrryboooddddyyy. Annnnyy maaaaaaiiilll forrrrrr meeeeeeee?" How powerful are those muscle relaxants, one wonders.

It's more like a zombie shuffle. I am lucky nobody tried to smash my head today. I'm full on, head lolling to the side, foot dragging, arm drooping zombified.
