From the Writer's Almanac today.
Last night, I sat on the living room floor, packing for my trip to California.
The Writer's Almanac tells me that today is her birthday, and it gives this quote from her about her time in the theatre:
"Anniversary" by Davi Walders from A More Perfect Union.
"The Dead" by Susan Mitchell from The Water Inside the Water.
It's August, and things are good.
"Perfect," by R.T. Smith, inscribed "For Jerome Ward," from Trespasser
Hey y'all.
(emphasis mine; I love that he's so honest)
"Deer Season" by Barbara Tanner Angell from The Long Turn Toward the Light: Collected Poems

Ha! Just as I suspected; most of these entries are from The Writer's Almanac. BORING. Well, I ultimately don't find them that boring, but they sure don't give me insight into the deeper meaning of my year 2005. I spent this year writing a lot--queries, pitches, scripts, articles... but not so many journals, either Live or paper. I know it will pass, but, right now, I feel distant from my journaling life, which is where I sift, ruminate, mediate, understand myself better. It was a busy year. Time keeps moving. Everything will come back around.
Happy weekend, everyone.
