A list

Several of my LJ friends make lists occasionally, and I think they're clever, interesting, and always illuminating. So today, I offer my own take on the check-in list. It may need a new title, but I'll work on that later. I invite you to respond with your versions of this list. I'm all about cultivating gratitude for small things today.

Things That Are Currently Sustaining Me:

*Peanut butter oatmeal cookies, microwaved for 15 seconds with chocolate chips on top

*Daily snuggling with a boy and his orange dog

*Humor

*Air conditioning window unit and oscillating fan

*Amplitude (the video game)

*Late-blooming fuschia roses in the park

*A medium-sized check for web work

*Hope

*Playing with BPAL scents every morning

*Lots and lots of water

*Writing Wednesdays with my friend

*Morning writing practice

This list is especially important for me today, so good one. :) Mostly it's important because I can't think of anything right off the bat, indicating to me just how drained I am.

Things That Are Currently Sustaining Me:

My kitten purring next to my head at night, and pressing her paw once, lightly, against my forehead when I woke up in the middle of the night and blinked at her.

The appreciative and constructive comments that I'm getting on my comic at Penciljack.

The memories of grooving out with Sean at the Isotope, slapping the counter rhythmically and us both singing along to U2 while we set up shop.

Getting a phone call from my parents and my sister while they were at brunch in Virginia without me, and hearing how much they lit up when we talked.

Thoughts of visiting loved ones in August and September.
