Gail Sher is the author of a good book on writing called "One Continuous Mistake." I found this quote from her today (emphasis mine):

"What is the best way to write? Each of us has to discover her own way by writing. Writing teaches writing. No one can tell you your own secret."

I think that the last sentence applies beautifully to life, too.
