Dude! I just remembered and re-experienced one of my favorite joys of winter:

You can just put a coat on over your pajamas instead of getting dressed to put the trash out or run to the deli.

hahahahaha. that's a "michigan kid's old winter trick" that my friend lara d (laralikesska) taught me in a zine she wrote. except you just put your pants and shirt on over your pajamas and wear them like longjohns. all day. it totally works.

I'm rediscovering the joys of coats in general! Nothing like being able to crawl back into my thick winter wool duster. :)
