The title of this meme is one of my own invention. A meme isn't a meme until it has a good title!

Name a CD you own that no one else on your friends list does:
Moloko's "Things to Make and Do" -- okay, how about Small A.M.'s self-titled release?

Name a book you own that no one else on your friends list does:
Representation: Cultural Representations and Signifying Practices, edited by Stuart Hall. Or possibly From Beginning to End: The Rituals of Our Lives by Robert Fulghum.

Name a movie you own that no one else on your friends list does:
Hmm. Either "Maverick" (yes, the Mel Gibson/Jodie Foster one), or "Don't Eat the Pictures - Sesame Street at the Metropolitan Museum of Art".

Name a place that you have visited that no one else on your friends list has:
Lostwithiel, UK, or the island of Elba, off the coast of Italy.

I own the Fulghum book -- but other than that, you win.

Nice! I love that book; I find the wisdom of it very comforting. How did you come by it?

i probably have a weird advantage--i've been a dj for many years on various college and community radio stations so get more exposure to good music than the average bear (-;

That's really cool! I love to hear about women DJs, since you don't hear about them that often. How did you get into that?

I started when I was in college with our campus radio station, then when in Tucson worked for a few years with a really cool community radio station--both were all volunteer--the one downside of being back in NC now is that their is no adult community radio station--just college or mainstream (read: clearchannel)...may need to delve into my pirate radio connections soon, i certainly do miss it.

That's awesome. What kind of music did you spin? What kind of music do you like?

oh almost all kinds! rock, techno/dance, country, folk, blues, singer-songwriters, you name it--that was actually the really cool thing about the radio station in AZ--it was a wonderful mix of all kinds of music...
