Anniversary
Sep. 20th, 2004 08:38 amOkay, I couldn't post the bad news without posting some good news, too. This was in yesterday's Writers' Almanac, as it was the anniversary of the day that poets Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning eloped:
"On the morning of June 29, 1861, as Elizabeth lay dying, Robert fed her jelly with a spoon. 'Our lives are held by God,' she said. A short time later, she died in his arms."
What more can you say of that?
