Jul. 11th, 2002 03:16 pm"Justice may be given in the next world
In this one we have only the law"
the end title of a BBC program about witch hunts in the 1600s
This is how I felt on January 10th. I wish I'd had this quote before that day. I still feel this way sometimes. I don't like to believe in a vindictive, angry Divinity, but sometimes I wonder where things will be made right?

Date: 2002-07-11 06:47 pm (UTC)Sigh. Keep in mind, God's got some mad heat He's packin' for Revelation time. In the meantime, we have to make do with human attempts at legality, naturally inferior no matter how accurate and just they may (occasionally) get.
And, I dunno. ... It's cold comfort, maybe no comfort, but I'd like to think that judge's latent bias caught up with her in a mistrial somewhere. I'd like to think that mugger's desire to rob again landed him in jail on some other occasion, or made him meet a .44 caliber dose of reality when he picked the wrong target (as mean as such a wish may be).
I'd like to think these things, but I don't know them. I only know Someone who does. And I only know those two people are stuck with this incident in their consciences, whether they choose to drudge them up from time to time or not.
Where will things be made right? "Later."
