Countdown: 4 Days
Apr. 5th, 2004 08:53 amThis weekend, I slept for over 24 hours in total, trying to kick the cold that ran me over like a truck on Friday. I did well until last night, when I couldn't fall asleep until 1 a.m., and the wind from outside crept in through my window. I won't miss that quirk when I'm in the new apartment. So this morning, my cold looks like it's turned into a sinus infection, which always happens to me, and I'm not sure how to keep it from doing that. I'm cranky and not looking forward to going outside.
However. Today is my last Monday at the job. Amongst my crankiness this morning, I had a moment of joy that I will not have to dread that office over my weekend anymore. Ever again! I'm thrilled by this prospect.
I spoke to one of my co-writers this weekend about needing to move back into third gear, into the creative place. I told her that I was finding it hard to let go of the second gear drive of "more-better-faster" editing and business-work. I need to move towards Dreaming, and Inspiration. After Thursday, I will have my daylight hours to do that. I am very excited.
I still have questions 11-28 of the Writers' Meme to answer, which I will hopefully be able to do this week. For now, I'm going to put my head over a pot of hot water, and breathe the steam, to fortify me for the cold wind outside.

Date: 2004-04-05 07:47 am (UTC)I used to get sinus infections until I had my tonsils out at 21. I can't say that's the solution I'd recommend - it was unpleasant to say the least. But, no more sinus infections.
Hope you feel better. Three more days!

Date: 2004-04-05 08:47 am (UTC)I had a thought yesterday while walking in the Haight-- Jonatha Brooke is playing here in San Francisco on the 15th of April (next Thursday) at 8pm. I was thinkin', you being here and all, if you like her music, that could be a cool thing to do. :)

Just let me know when you'll be around and I'll rustle something up. This city is perfect for wandering.
