Happy New Year, everyone! Welcome to the Year of the Monkey. Don't know about you, but I'm relieved to be done with the Pig. I don't know a great deal about what the Year of the Monkey signifies, but I'm happy to be in the year of one of my favorite mischievous animals.

Hmm... you may be right. I thought it was the Year of the Pig, but I'm finding information that it was the Year of the Sheep/Ram. Whatever it was, I'm ready for a change!

baby, you need to check your chinese calender again...

or at the very least you need to check the chinese new year stamps from last year ('twernt no pig on the stamp)...

yay, happy new year!

and just to clarify: i bid farewell to the pig in my journal because i am year of the pig, and last year was, according to vietnamese tradition, the least luckiest year for people born during the Pig Year.

...i'm not sure how the chinese view it...but, yeah, yay monkey!
