Houston sky
Dec. 28th, 2003 02:00 pmThere is something about the sunlight and the sky in Houston. I can't explain why it's different than other skies. But it's something about the dozen windchimes that rustle in the wind as I sit and watch the light shine through the trees in my backyard, and it's something about knowing that there is a house full of love and memories behind me. So maybe I do know why these things are different here: family. My roots. The place where I started my journey.
I leave tonight to go back to the life I've built for myself in NYC. I love that life, too, and am proud of the work I've done. And my family's love follows me wherever I go. But there's still a "but", and I'm slowly discovering what it is.
