In Love with Monteverde. Ahhgain.

While looking through the Fountain Pen Hospital's website for recommendations for bluesavannah, I came upon this little gem (the Black and White fountain pen, at the top), and now I'm in love again.

This goes on my "after the holidays" wish list for myself.

What? No way! A fountain pen is a perfect example of simple engineering. And it's such a simple pleasure to use everyday. :)

I have the Waterman Hemisphere, and while I'm not carrying it now (though that might change this weekend), it's a lovely pen. Smooth writing, comfortable weight and heft in the hand; a really nice pen.

I also have a Pelikan Classic 200, with an extra fine nib -- that was my first good fountain pen, and I still adore it. It's lighter in the hand, but a really pleasing shape against the fingers.

The Monteverdes are on sale now. I say this, knowing that it might not be what you need to hear at the moment.
