I thee wed
Nov. 30th, 2003 02:20 pmLast night I dreamed that my mother gave me an engagement ring that she'd made for herself. She wanted me to have it if I ever got married, and I decided to wear it on my left ring finger now anyway. It was a beautiful sleek ring, silver, with a small diamond and also a small onyx. I felt so special, wearing my new, beautiful ring around the city. I wondered if anyone would assume that I was married because I wore the ring on that finger, and then I didn't care.

moriana90 and I made it back from Michigan safe and sound, and we had a blast. This was the first of three (potentially four) weddings that I'm attending in the next six months, and all of them are people of my age. This has me thinking a lot about life, love, and the paths that people choose to take. Surprisingly, my thoughts on this subject are less bitter and angry than they have been in the past. Seeing some of my peers take marriage seriously gives me pause, and makes me wonder if the choice to join your life to another's deserves a bit more reverence than I've given it in the past.
I've just woken up to a day of bright autumn sunlight, so I don't want to make this a full post about marriage and weddings. Instead, I'm going back upstairs to my warm sunlit bed, and I will start reading the book that
echoboom gave me last week, about a boy and his mother.
Happy Sunday, everyone.
