With temperatures projected to be in the upper 50s/low 60s for the next week, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Goddess (or whoever controls the weather) for the terrifically temperate autumn that New York City has been blessed with.
In past NYC autumns, my little Houstonian heart began to whine for a cold Thanksgiving and Christmas season. Because if you don't get winter in Houston in November and December, it will never come! But then I lived through the NYC winter of 2002-2003. Never fear, long tall Texan: winter will come, oh yes it will, and you will wear long underwear into April. And then you will be grateful for a November 19th when you can wear a light fall jacket.
So thank you, weather Goddess. I appreciate your gentleness.
